Terms of Service
Last updated: October 2026
Welcome to ZapSketch. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the ZapSketch website, software, applications, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
ZapSketch provides software intended to assist with electrical planning, estimation, documentation, calculations, reporting, and related workflows.
The Service is provided as a tool to assist users. It is not a substitute for professional judgment, engineering review, inspections, code compliance review, legal advice, or other professional services.
2. Your Responsibilities
You are solely responsible for:
- determining whether the Service is appropriate for your intended use;
- verifying the accuracy and completeness of all information, calculations, reports, recommendations, estimates, drawings, and other outputs generated by the Service;
- ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, standards, codes, contractual requirements, manufacturer requirements, and project requirements;
- reviewing all work before relying upon it or distributing it.
You acknowledge that the Service may generate outputs based on user inputs, assumptions, software logic, and other information that may contain errors, omissions, inaccuracies, or incomplete information.
You are solely responsible for independently reviewing and verifying all outputs before relying on them for any purpose.
3. Accounts, Subscriptions, Cancellation and Refunds
Certain features of the Service may require payment or a subscription.
Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the start of the next billing period.
You can cancel at any time from Billing in the app. When you cancel, you keep access to paid features until the end of the period you have already paid for, and you will not be charged again.
Payments are non-refundable, except that we will refund your first payment if you ask within 14 days of it. To request that refund, email support@zapsketch.com from the email address on your account.
Pricing, subscription offerings, and available features may change from time to time. Any pricing changes will apply prospectively.
Payments are processed by third-party payment providers. ZapSketch does not store your complete payment card information.
4. Cloud Storage
If you sign in, the Service stores your projects, plan files, device library, and workspace details (such as your company name, logo, and proposal terms) in your account ("Cloud Content") so you can open them on other devices.
Cloud storage is subject to the limits of your plan, such as the number of cloud projects, file sizes, and total storage, as shown in the Service. These limits may change. We may pause or refuse uploads that exceed them or that threaten the operation of the Service.
If your paid subscription ends, your Cloud Content is kept. Projects beyond what your plan allows become read-only, and you can still open, export, and download them.
If you have never had a paid subscription, we may delete the Cloud Content of an account that has not been signed in to for 12 months. We will email the address on the account at least 30 days before doing so.
You can download any project as a .zapsketch file at any time, and you are responsible for keeping copies of anything you can't afford to lose. You can delete your account from Workspace in the app; this deletes your Cloud Content, though copies may remain in our backups for up to 30 days.
You keep ownership of the content you provide. You grant ZapSketch a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, copy, process and use that content to operate, provide and improve the Service, including training and evaluating the models behind its features. Projects kept only in your browser are not used for training. You confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed to provide the drawings and other content you upload.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for any unlawful purpose;
- interfere with or disrupt the operation of the Service;
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems, data, or accounts;
- bypass licensing, security, or usage restrictions;
- use the Service in a manner that infringes the rights of others.
6. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its software, branding, design, documentation, and related content, is owned by ZapSketch or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Subject to these Terms, ZapSketch grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service.
You retain ownership of the projects, documents, files, and other content you create using the Service.
7. Availability
The Service may be modified, updated, suspended, or discontinued at any time.
We do not guarantee that the Service will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, compatible with every environment, or free from errors.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE."

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ZAPSKETCH'S TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF:
- the total amount paid by you to ZapSketch during the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim; or
- CAD $100.
Some jurisdictions do not permit certain exclusions or limitations. In those jurisdictions, portions of this section may not apply.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ZapSketch from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and reasonable legal expenses arising out of:
- your use of the Service;
- your violation of these Terms;
- your violation of applicable law; or
- your infringement of the rights of another person.
11. Changes
ZapSketch may update these Terms from time to time.
The most current version will always be published on the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction where ZapSketch is headquartered, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any disputes relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved by the courts having jurisdiction in that jurisdiction, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
